Helping You to Maintain Your Smile

Do you need a crown, multiple crowns, or a permanent bridge? Regional Dental Associates crown and bridge treatments will restore your broken and decayed teeth, support remaining teeth, and help you maintain proper dental health.

This long-term solution can help prevent issues that can occur when just one tooth is missing, including shifting of teeth, tooth decay, periodontal disease, and bone loss.

As a locally owned and operated dental practice, Regional Dental Associates provides comprehensive crown and bridge work options.

About Crowns

Crowns are used to strengthen and improve the shape, size, or color of teeth. They can support broken or weak teeth or those with large fillings. Crowns also provide a smooth, strong, attractively contoured surface for stained or otherwise abnormal teeth. They also help with the implantation of bridges and other implants.

We can start and finish your crown in a single day. Single-visit procedures have revolutionized the way we do dentistry. If you are in need of a crown, you might be concerned about the length of time and preparation work that it takes from start to finish. We can complete the entire crown process in a single day. This is done by using advanced CAD/CAM technology to image the tooth and create a permanent crown restoration that is ready within a couple hours.

About Same Day Crowns

Crowns usually require two visits, but we offer same-day dental crowns. We offer this service to our patients so they do not have to wait the standard two to three weeks to complete the crown.

At your initial appointment, Dr. Scallions will examine the tooth and determine the appropriate treatment. It could be a simple filling, inlay/onlay, or a full coverage crown, depending on the amount of tooth structure remaining. Once the tooth has been prepared, a 3D virtual model of your teeth will be created using an intraoral video camera. This camera will take a “digital impression” of your teeth so the porcelain restoration can be made. This information is immediately sent to the lab, where they begin processing the information. As soon as the appointment is over, the crown process begins. In most cases, a temporary tooth is not needed, since the crown will be cemented on the same day.

Dr. Scallions will evaluate the design of the crown before it is finalized and has the ability to see exactly what the crown will look like on the tooth – in 3D! No metal is used for these types of crowns since they are 100% porcelain. You will approve the size, shape, and color of the crown once it has been tried in. After your approval, your tooth-colored restoration is cemented into place, and your crown is complete…in a single day!

3D Imaging

Our system gives our practice state-of-the-art technology diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. Unlike a traditional spiral CT scanner, this 3D system utilizes cone beam CT technology and provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation. Our new 3D system enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits. This allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs. This helps to limit your radiation exposure because we are focusing specifically on your area of concern. Providing unmatched visualization of anatomical detail which aids in treatment planning and helps us to better explain the particulars of your case, as well as address any questions you may have. We can use this innovative technology to quickly and easily share 3D images of the area of concern with your referring doctor – allowing the doctors to collaborate on your care, improving your experience, and delivering a positive treatment outcome.

About Bridges

Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that help maintain facial structure, reduce stress on the jaw and fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented to your existing teeth and don't come out. If you choose removable bridges, they can be taken out and cleaned at home.
